PLANNING VIABILTY REPORTS
Local Authorities are increasingly concerned about the loss of pubs and the effects it may have on the local community. The National Planning Policy Framework imposes a duty on Local Authorities to prevent the unnecessary loss of such facilities and the requirement to submit a viability assessment is becoming standard practice. We have many years’ experience in producing such reports, which consider in detail the physical characteristics of the pub, its location, competition in the area and the business past and present. We have appeared before planning inspectors at both public enquiries and public hearings and appeared before the criminal court in respect of enforcement proceedings.
